Role models inspire other to grow up the right way and want to do something with their lives besides just wanting to be at home forever. True role models are those who possess the qualities that we would like to have and those who have affected us in a way that makes us want to be better people. To achieve our goals and ourselves and take leadership on the issues that we believe in. We often don't recognize our true role models until we have noticed our own personal growth and progress. I think that I serve as a temporary role model to my younger sister but she just doesn't want to admit it yet. I think a good role model encourages me to believe I can get to where she is. I think role models have changed over the generations. People used to describe their role models as being people they didn't know i.e. movie stars and athletes. Now, people tend to find role models that are in some way or another involved in their lives. I believe people who are role models know that they are whether they like it or not. It is their behavior that people look up to. It is their leadership qualities that others want to see and model. It is the smile that they give to others.

Write about someone you both fear and admire

I fear and admire love because depending how it is treated it could be a good thing or a bad thing. Love can be for a person or just something you love doing. Love inspires me to do all the things I do on a day to day basis. It can be bad because it does hurt and people can go into depression because of it and can tear them apart and they do not know what to do anymore with them. For example, Romeo and Juliet, their death was a crime of passion. They loved together and died together. No one wanted them to be together and they had to seek and spend time together but their families could not appreciate the love between them that go past a last name. Love does conquer all and the families finally figured that if they had settled their differences their beloved children would still be alive. Only if everyone could see love as it is and that it should not be taken lightly because it could lead into death. But love is just not tragic it can also be a wonderful experience that you want to share with everyone. That’s why people get married and shout out their love to the whole world.

"That ought to have changed, but have not."

Prejudice is something that has not been changed and ought to be as soon as possible because it has been going on for so many years and we are all human and should be treated equally. Blacks have been at the bottom for a very long time and have done a lot to come to the top and are still not appreciated for what they have done. Blacks have made a way for the younger African Americans to sit in the classrooms with white students and be called upon as one of the students. I do not understand how anyone can put another human beings down as a piece of dirt. Sterotypes have been around for the longest time and the will never go away until people actually talk to the other races and have an interaction with the opposite gender to explore another world.

"Opposition is indispensable. People will always learn more from those who disagree with them from those who share their views." Create a blog entry entitled "Opposition" and respond to the following prompt
Do you agree with this observation? Have you profited more from experiences with people whose views were similar to yours or from experiences with people whose view opposed your own? Include one or two specific examples to support your position

I do agree that I can learn more from a person who will disagree with me when I am wrong then compared to a person who will always agree with me. You can learn more facts that you did not know before if you take the time to be wrong and let someone correct your mistakes in a nice and calm matter. Say if you are trying to ask your teacher a question about a question on your final and your answer is completely wrong and your teacher tells you that you have the right answer how would you feel. You would not feel to good because you wrote it on your test and now you have the wrong answer. And it has effect your grade and you have not had anytime to learn anything. Now in contrast, if a teacher takes the time and tells you that you are wrong and tells you how to correct your mistakes you will be better off. Views and opinions are meant to be disapproved and changed to be facts. Usually my friends give their opinions and we all come to a easier conclusion to come to a settle ground of one common opinion and fact. Another examples is what if your talking to your friends and your trying to find a place to go for the their trip our the summer and you are the only one to throw out ideas and everyone just agree and go along with everything and they do not have fun and it just ruins the whole entire trip.

In the story "Sausage and Beer" I did not really like the story but I can almost agree with it. She is movitate by her job and going pass the limit of what she is expected of. She has an anti-social person you enjoy working alone and working at her own pace. She is extremely intellegent by the way she can figure out a person by there looks and the way they carry themselves. She wears the casual wear because she is a cop so she has to be comfortable. She is a dynamic character because as the movie progesses she lets one person into her life and becomes fun and more relaxed.

How can a writer add supense to a story?

A writer may add supense to a story by not telling the reader everything at the beginning of the story. This way it makes the reader want to read the story more and more and keeps them on the edge of their seat. Suspense is a type of writing that they readers will have different views on what may happen at the end of the story. It should apply to most of the sense so the reader can feel connected. Its should have strange smell and sounds that no one would imagine. style="font-family:Times New Roman;">

The Slave by James Oppenheim
The poem entitled "The Slave" by James Oppenheim is the poem that i connected with the most on a emotional and intelluctual level. The poem told a very strong message about slaves and them being set free. The poem was about a slave that has been a slave for a long time and does not know anything else but how to be a slave. After being set free the slave boy is still inside but they are just not on a plantation anymore. I connect with this poem on an emotional level because it shows the way of my ancestors and what they had to go through. I understand that it had to be very hard to do something like this but, they made a way for me to succeed in the later future. That is so powerful to me as being an african american. The poem shows strength and bravery that no one could have shown at this time.

Alone by Maya Angelou
The poem entitled "Alone" by Maya Angelou is a poem that i connected with me on deep emotional level. In this poem it states that no one but no one can make it out here alone. I feel that she is saying that you need a support to make it out in the world. I understand that a lot because i feel that everyone needs someone to help them on the way. I have someone that is very close to me and strive for me to do my best in everything that i do; and probably without this person i would not be able to do all the things i have accomplished so far. Poems also help me to calm me down and Angelous' poem has done a lot of work in this area. It shows me that i need someone there to help and i should not just try to do everything by myself or i will end up right where i started.

Annabel Lee by Edgar Allen Poe
The poem entitled "Annabel Lee" by Edgar Allen Poe was a poem that was very different but still had an effect on me. It shows his love for Annabel is unconditional and he will do anything to keep her safe in his arms. I like this poem because it describe my current relationship very well. I will do anything for my significant other and vice versa. It is just a truly wonderful poem overall. Its so many things that he says that he states that says she loves her without having to say it at all. I love poem that have someone that they care about and they tell them in a poem form. Poe had many different ways of telling someone they cared about them. Thats why i like his writing so much because it is so different and it does not have the views of the writers of this time.

Hello my name is Victoria and I am a junior and I doing this blog for my creative writing class.
My hobbies are running, shopping and helping people.
I am very smart and would like to go very far in my future.
